Operation Octarine will be held on September 24-27, 2026 at Camp Midian.
You are welcome to arrive on Wednesday the 23rd to setup camp, settle in, and familiarize yourself with the grounds.
-
Yes! In practice, chaos magic and eclectic witchcraft are virtually indistinguishable and are definitely influencing and enriching each other. Anyone who feels personal creativity is core to magic will find a welcoming community at Operation Octarine.
-
Operation Octarine is a magic-oriented festival with an aim of building magical community. If you’re new to magic, O∴O∴ is a great place for learning and making connections. If you’re not interested in magic and the occult, this may not be the event for you.

We highly encourage that you pre-register but it is not absolutely required. Our event must pay for venue rental fees, sanitation, printing, supplies, equipment, travel costs, food, and more all before the gates open. Pre-registering allows us to make all the necessary arrangements so your time with us is as well-provisioned as possible.
However, we do have at-gate rates for day passes and full weekend admission if you aren't able to pre-register online.
-
Yes. There are a number of hotel options within a 15 minute drive from the festival grounds along with restaurants and other amenities. After registering at the front gate, you will be free to come and go throughout the festival.
-
Yes, you can attend for a single day, and single-day passes can be purchased at the gate. When you purchase a day pass, you can also purchase a night pass for an additional fee.
We do not allow single-night registrations without an accompanying day-pass.
Day passes are valid from 9AM-9PM. Night passes are valid until 9AM the following morning.

Midian is a primitive camping experience with gravel roads and areas of grass, dirt, and sand. Many people have and do navigate the campground with mobility aids, but the level of accessibility varies greatly with weather conditions. Please let us know about any accommodations you may need when registering or reach out on our contact form with any questions.
-
The money generated by the festival goes into running the festival. Whatever money is left over after all expenses are paid is put toward next year's operating expenses.
-
We have decided to age restrict Operation Octarine for a few reasons including but not limited to: the likelihood of alcohol and being on the grounds; rituals and presentations that may deal with mature themes and/or ritual nudity; and Midian’s history of being a sex-positive, clothing optional venue.
-
We’re currently working on it. Stay tuned!

Yes! Our homepage contains a regularly updated feed of what’s new in regards to the festival and its planning. If you have any questions, you can also email us at info@operationoctarine.org.

Yes, Operation Octarine is clothing optional in specific contexts. Sexuality is an important aspect of magic for many of us and Midian has a long history of being a special place where we can explore. Nudity is permitted in one's own camp and in public areas of Midian. Nudity may be permitted or even encouraged at scheduled events and the schedule will clearly indicate what to expect.
Nudity is not permitted everywhere. Clothing is required in all areas visible from the public road and waterway. Clothing is also required in others' camps unless explicitly welcomed by all campers present. Personal space must also be respected, particularly where nudity is involved.
Some events at Operation Octarine may involve explicit sexual acts. These will always be clearly communicated beforehand. At no time will attendees be expected to participate in any sexual activity.. -
Definitely! We're veteran festival organizers and presenters! For many years we've organized the chaos magic track at the long running and successful Babalon Rising festival. This year we decided it was time for chaos to step out of the shadow of Thelema to become a festival of its own. What's more, we've teamed up with Skapandi Events who organizes many events every year at Midian including the popular N.E.R.F. festival!

Yes, RVs can be parked in the lot outside of the festival grounds. We don't have water or electricity hookups for your RV, but we can give the contact of the sanitation company that services our portable toilets for handling your waste water.

We're too far out to predict, but averages suggest highs around 73°F with lows around 55°F overnight. This should make for some lovely weather with a bit of a morning chill so plan to pack and dress accordingly.
